MALAYA: A Culture and Arts Night

 MALAYAATENEO1

A night of artistic expression on nationalism, bravery, remembrance, and hope. MALAYA’s second will take place on November 7, 2017, at the Henry Lee Irwin Theater, Ateneo de Manila University, doors open at 7PM. Be there early to get good seats.

The event will feature socially relevant performances from local artists such as

Ang Bandang Shirley, Pordalab, Words Anonymous, Lakan Umali, and White Wall Poetry.

Luckily for us, admission is FREE for all.

Meant to raise awareness among millennials, MALAYA revolves around the theme #NEVERAGAIN. Unlike any other, this event aims to celebrate freedom and democracy among the university students through the use of culture and arts.

Audiences were held in awe during MALAYA’s first run at De La Salle University-Manila, starting off with socially relevant LIVE ART MURALS from local artists like Rachel Torres and Molly Garcia, and ending the night with performances from millennial favorites like Jensen and the Flips, Words Anonymous, BannaHarbera, and many more.

MALAYA is brought to you by the volunteers of Bantayog ng Mga Bayani Foundation, in partnership with Dalubhasaan ng Mga Umuusbong na Mag-Aaral ng Araling Pilipino and WHENINMANILA.COM.

Bantayog ng mga Bayani is a landscaped memorial center honoring those individuals who lived and died in defiance of the repressive regime that ruled over the Philippines from 1972 to 1986.
