According to reports online “Suzume no Tojimari” follows the story of a 17-year-old girl named Suzume who lives in a quiet town in Kyushu. Her ordinary life then changes one day when she meets a young traveler in search of a door. She follows the man into the mountains and finds the door which eventually thrusts her into one big mysterious journey.

The movie is scheduled for premiere in Japan in Fall 2022. It sounds like a long wait from now but knowing Shinkai and his collaborators, it’ll be definitely worth the wait if it means getting to experience the magic and depth of the animation and his heartwrenching storytelling!
