Make Your Own Havaianas Philippines at the Rockwell Tent: Celebrating 50 Years of Personalized Fashion

When in Manila, and with the peak of the summer season nearing its end, students most especially have been taking full advantage of the last remaining days of their vacation before June hits the corner and another school year begins. With everyone heading out to the beaches and the beautiful islands of the country, wearing flipflops is definitely a trend that won’t go away anytime soon. Last May 8, the brand launched its 50^th year of personalized fashion with their much-awaited event known as the Make Your Own Havaianas. Havainaticos, as the lovers of the brand are called, decked the Rockwell Tent in their stylish summer dresses, parading their Havaianas while designing new ones using the famous wheel which you could turn both ways to choose a desirable look. Drinks and finger foods were even distributed as a quick program opened the event with different dance and music groups performing, including the UE PEP Squad. It was definitely a fun night—embodying what Havaianas is all about.

Originating from Brazil in 1962, Havaianas was brought to the Philippines in 2003 where it instantly became a hit and Havaianaticos from all over the country flocked the stores to get themselves a pair or more. And why wouldn’t they? Havaianas have always been known to make comfy slippers that appeal to anyone’s taste. They come in the most colorful and creative designs, enough to put a smile on your face just by looking at them! Living in a tropical country also makes them the perfect pair of footwear.
