Mad for Garlic – The Scent of Good Food

When in Manila and you want to go gaga over garlic, Mad for Garlic is a chic bistro in Bonifacio Global City that is located on a strip where IHOP also is. Mad for Garlic was brought to the Philippines by the Global Resto Group, the same guys who brought California Pizza Kitchen, IHOP, Gyukaku, and P. F. Changs.

At first look, Mad for Garlic can be intimidating. It has a mesmerizing set-up that will make you feel like you are dining inside a wine cellar. It has quite a number of wine bottles displayed on cabinets that encapsulate the restaurant. What makes the set-up even perfect is quaint lighting, which makes Mad for Garlic a great choice for a date place.

Aside from its appearance, Mad for Garlic has a unique concept where majority of the dishes has garlic in it, if not the star of every course. If you a fan of this healthy herb, you will love it even more when you try this restaurant. If you are not fond of it, which I guess a lot of people will raise their hands on this, you’re mind will be changed. That garlic stench, which makes us not like garlic, unexpectedly, is not there. Give it chance.

Mad for Garlic originated from Korea, but it specializes on Italian dishes filled with garlic. Basically, it is a fusion of the healthy food fare the Korean culture has on signature Italian food like pizzas and pastas.

Everything is made fresh at Mad for Garlic. From the pasta sauces to the garlic chips, nothing is simply from the bottle. All are made at the break of day.

The WhenInManila Team was given the privilege to try some of Mad for Garlic’s bestsellers. Timing was perfect since they were also launching their solo sizes, which is only available in the Philippines.
