Luis Manzano has spoken up in his and fiancée Jessy Mendiola’s defense after a jewelry company accused them both of not giving proper credit to them for being the “original creators” of Jessy’s engagement ring.
The accusation came to light when Jessy had tagged a different jewelry company, of which she is the current ambassador, on her social media posts announcing her engagement.

Radiant Jewelry, the company that came forward with the allegations, released a statement on its social media on Sunday, December 13. “It is unfortunate that a company would insinuate a work for something they did not do.
We feel the need to inform the public that this is our work.
We are the original creators of the engagement ring of Jessy Mendiola and Luis Manzano,” it said.
“In our opinion taking credit for something they did not do is detrimental to the industry that have ring makers who put their heart and soul to their pieces. Such a post or announcement is very misleading and unethical.”
The company also posted a video of Luis receiving the ring.

Luis then took to the comments section of Radiant Jewelry’s Instagram post to explain his side.
“While Radiant did help us procure the main stone, we had a completely different setting, [add-ons] and design made [through] @maniladiamondstudio. So yes, the design Jessy is wearing right now is from her own design and @maniladiamondstudio,” he said.
He also told fans that he and Jessy will share their “unique ring/proposal story” in a vlog post soon. “You’ll see why she designed her own ring!” he gushed.

The couple got engaged last October but announced it only on December 12 through a photoshoot in Amanpulo, Palawan. They have been together for more than four years.
