Whether it’s going to the mall to buy gifts, trying out new spots to eat in, or simply visiting parks and other places to relax, Light Rail Transit 1 (LRT-1) operator Light Rail Manila Corporation helps make these possible through the services of LRT-1. After announcing the extended operating hours of the train line recently, LRMC now enjoins its passengers to spend more time with their families on weekends as it gives free rides to senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) until January 8, 2017.

According to LRMC Corporate Communications and Customer Relations Head Rochelle Gamboa, “All Concessionary Beep Card (CBC) holders, comprised mainly of senior citizens and PWDs, who are travelling with at least two family members, will get to ride LRT-1 for free on all weekends and holidays of December to January 8, 2017.”

The CBC holder can proceed to the teller’s booth in each LRT-1 station to activate his or her free ride. Those without CBC yet can still avail of the free ride, as long as they apply in the teller’s booth and present the claim stub.

LRMC has also extended LRT-1 operating hours to 11PM until December 23 to serve more commuters. There will be additional northbound trains from Baclaran every 10 minutes after 9:30PM and every 15 minutes after 10:00PM on weekdays. Last train from Baclaran is 11:00PM. From Roosevelt on weekdays, there will be additional southbound trips at 10:00, 10:10, 10:20, 10:30, 10:45, and 11:00PM.
