Seibu-en Amusement Park in the Saitama Prefecture underwent major renovations in November 2020 to celebrate its 70th anniversary and is all set to reopen in May 2021, letting guests walk through an entire town designed after Tokyo’s cityscape back in the Showa Era (around 1926 to 1989).

And to perfectly tie the nostalgic feels altogether is the new Godzilla ride that will be housed inside a retro-style theater building, giving us the impression that it will be an indoor dark ride. According to the official description, the “Godzilla the Ride: Great Kaiju Decisive Dominance Battle” throws riders into the middle of a fierce fight between Godzilla and his mightiest nemesis, the three-headed beast King Ghidorah.

The attraction’s CG visuals will be directed by Takashi Yamazaki, the award-winning visual effects director behind “Stand by Me Doraemon” and “Lupin III: The First.”

It is unknown if it’s a rollercoaster, a 4D experience, or something else completely, but the park promises that it will “sweep you up in a whirlpool of transcendental excitement” and “change the way you look at humanity, and Godzilla.” Sounds exciting!!!
