The new Star Wars movie is here! All this excitement surrounding the newest spin-off to the blockbuster Star Wars franchise, “Solo: A Star Wars Story”, has got us looking back at all the past Star Wars movies we grew up with and loved. And it got us thinking, what if Star Wars characters were played by Pinoy actors? Who would play who?
So, we’ve come up with our own Star Wars casting. :p Take a look!
Liza Soberano as Queen Amedala
The young Queen’s grace, courageous spirit, and beauty? We can totally see that pulled off by our very own ~kween~ Liza.
James Reid as Anakin Skywalker
We see it. Baby-faced cutie James can totally be young Darth Vader, aka Jedi padawan, Anakin Skywalker. Insert GIF:

Derek Ramsay as Darth Maul
It can’t be just us. Darth Maul is kinda hot. Aaaand, he has that Derek Ramsay vibe. (Is it the hair?) They kind of look alike, plus they’re both athletic too!
Benjie Paras as C3PO
Benjie Paras is like that friendly, super helpful neighbor that everybody likes. Much like C3PO!
CD-R King as R2D2
Because LOL, you can get everything from CR-R King. We all know that.
Ronaldo Valdez as Obi-Wan Kenobi
A legendary Jedi master, we think Obi-Wan Kenobi should be played by a legendary Pinoy actor as well. Ronaldo Valdez fits the bill!
Eddie Garcia as Darth Vader
Don’t you think Eddie Garcia has a fantastic Darth Vader potential? We think he can perfectly summon the dark force in our Pinoy version of Star Wars. The man plays a great TV villain after all!
Empoy as Jar Jar Binks
Could Empoy make people love Jar Jar Binks??? We think so.
Nadine Lustre as Princess Leia
Princess Leia is not your ordinary leading lady. She’s not a damsel in distress. She’s unconventional and pretty bad-ass. So is Nadine. Insert: “Come on guys, it’s 2017.”
Coco Martin as Luke Skywalker
Coco be like, “May the fourth be with you.”
Jimmy Santos as Chewbacca
They’re both lovable gentle giants!
Kuya Kim as Yoda
Just imagine all-knowing Master Yoda telling Luke during his Jedi training “Sa bawat pagsubok ng panahon, laging tatandaan ang buhay ay weather-weather lang.”
And, lastly, as an ode to the newly released “Solo: A Star Wars Story”…
Gerald Anderson as Han Solo
Gerald has shown great acting chops and a flair for action movies—he’d be a great Han Solo!
