We love Disney Princesses. We have always believed that there is a princess in all of us. But what if our favorite princesses were Filipina? What would they look like? Or better yet, who would play them?
We reimagined our favorite local celebrities as Disney Princesses depending on their looks and/or personality.
Here’s what we came up with. 🙂
Marian Rivera as Cinderella
With her mestiza look, we thought she would be perfect to play Cinderella- one of the ‘OG’ Princesses. Remember her fairy tale wedding? We think it’s just fitting!
Arci Muñoz as Jasmine
Aladdin’s Princess has really bold eyes and totally rocks that crop top. Who better to portray her other than the lovely Arci Muñoz? She’s got the voice to sing “A Whole New World”, too; and maybe she can even give us a rock version for a modern twist.
Gabbi Garcia as Pocahontas
This new it-girl is making waves with her endorsements for shampoo and makeup brands. She even met Gigi Hadid! Being naturally morena and with long black hair, Gabbi would look perfect as Pocahontas!
Bea Alonzo as Belle
Belle, one of our favorites both in live action format and in the cartoon, can be played by Bea Alonzo. The nose and skin tone are quite convincing, don’t you think?
Klea Pineda as Tiana
Klea, most popularly known as one of the characters in the re-make of Encantadia, fits this list well. Known for being artistic and adventurous, she fits the role of the very spunky princess Tiana to a tee.
Kim Chiu as Mulan
This is a no-brainer. Of course our favorite Chinita will be playing the role of Mulan. Whetheras a princess or a soldier, Kim will be able to portray the role well. Remember “My Binondo Girl”?
Bianca Umali as Rapunzel
With bold eyes and a tiny figure, GMA 7’s Bianca Umali is a good fit for Rapunzel. As in Tangled, the original Disney Princess movie of Rapunzel, Bianca also grew up with the changing times from diaper commercials to kids shows and now in your favorite teleseryes.
Nadine Lustre as Ariel
Our resident beach babe and adventurer Nadine Lustre is the most perfect Pinay celebrity to take on the role of Ariel. We all know that she’s a mermaid at heart and can rock any look! Maybe she can try red hair, too!
Liza Soberano as Aurora
Definitely one of the most beautiful ladies in Philippine showbiz, Liza Soberano is the perfect lady to play Aurora or Sleeping Beauty.
