It’s been two years since “Crazy Rich Asians” premiered on the big screen and confirmed that a sequel was in the works. It’s also been two years since our very own Heart Evangelista is being rumored to take on a role in the upcoming film—something that hasn’t been confirmed nor denied by the actress or author Kevin Kwan.
However, talks of her being part of the cast have reignited after Kevin shared a Vogue article listing Heart as among those who will potentially take on the role of Colette Bing, a fashionable Chinese mega blogger and “celebrity girlfriend chased by fevered paparazzi.”
Again, this doesn’t confirm that Heart is officially joining the sequel, especially since the same article also listed Taiwanese-Australian actress-model Hannah Quinlivan and “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” actress Lana Condor as the others rumored to be vying for the role. So no one is really certain who Colette Bing is going to be.
Heart has also previously stated that she had no involvement in the sequel when she posted photos of herself traveling to China back in 2019. Kevin, however, revealed during a Facebook live session with Heart, radio broadcaster Karen Davila, and Tatler Philippines editor-in-chief Anton San Diego that he will keep fighting to have Heart cast in one of his future movies.
