Okay, hear us out: Oscar Award-winning director, Taika Waititi, just hosted an Instagram Live event where he treated Marvel fans worldwide to a sneak peek at the script of the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder film.
The thing is… Tony Stark is in it and he’s alive to re-assemble the Avengers.
Or, as the script reads, “the Avengererers.”
“Do’th mineth eyeth deceiveth me?” Thor says.
“You’re back,” he exclaims as Stark answers, “In the sack, baby!”
When Thor asks him how he’s alive, Stark says simply: “Science.” But here’s the bad news: “Also, Thanos is back.”
“Mother Frigga, no,” Thor says. “So… we’re assembling again?”
Stark then pushes a button that transforms him once again into Iron Man with his suit covered in decals of all the flags of every nation on Earth. “Everyone who died is coming back. And this time we’re avenging even more than ever. From now on we’ll be known as… The Avengererers.”
Okay, please don’t take this script seriously. Obviously, this was a fake script that Waititi wrote and showed to fans on his live stream just for laughs, and we appreciate him for it! We needed something as silly as this to lighten up our moods amid the crisis, after all.
Sadly, that means Tony Stark is still very much dead and the Avengers aren’t coming back as the “Avengererers.” But we can’t wait to see what Waititi has in store for us in this new Thor movie!
Thor: Love and Thunder is scheduled for release on February 18, 2022.
