LOOK: This New Museum Has an 8-Meter Tall Library You’d Love to Get Lost In

If you love all things related to Japanese pop culture, you’re going to want to watch out for the grand opening of a new entertainment complex catered to fans of anime and video games in Tokyo, Japan later this year called the Tokorozawa Sakura Town, which is going to have tons of cool establishments—like an anime-themed hotel, a book store, and an events space—located in it.

But among all the buildings planned for Tokorozawa Sakura Town, it’s the Kadokawa Culture Museum that’s fueling our excitement the most as of the moment. Why? What else, other than the 8-meter-tall library that looks like this?

Called the “bookshelf theater,” this stunning exhibition boasts of 50,000 books placed on numerous wooden shelves. When it opens in November, guests can enjoy watching videos on its interactive displays and even projection mapping shows that will bring the library to life!

Right now, visitors can check out the other library of the partially opened Kadokawa Culture Museum that spans two floors and contains 25,000 books all published by Kadokawa. The publishing house is known best for its manga and young adult novels.

What else can be expected in the Tokorozawa Sakura Town?

Sakura Town aims to become the country’s hottest spot for Japanese pop culture by incorporating Japanese pop culture in all its hotels, museums, restaurants, and events spaces.

Other attractions planned for the entertainment complex are the EJ Anime Hotel; a Japan Pavilion designed to hold e-sports competitions, concerts, exhibitions, and movie screenings; a modern Musashino Reiwa Shrine; and many more!
