If you’re single and you have a date on Valentine’s Day, you can file for a leave and get an allowance.
There’s a catch: you have to be an employee of the local government of Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental.
In a Facebook post, Mayor Jason John Joyce announced, “May date na ba kayo sa Feb. 14? May 5 days pa kayo para maghanap ng date. I will allow you to go on leave on Valentine’s day with DATE ALLOWANCE in the amount of P2,000.”
There are requirements if you want to apply for this leave:
1. Proof that you have a date (through chat or text).
2. Your date is not your boyfriend or girlfriend.
3. You don’t have a boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, or wife.
4. A picture of your actual date upon your return to work on Feb. 15. Otherwise, you have to refund the date allowance.
The mayor ended his post with, “Ready, set, hanap date!!!! Good luck.”
