With the continuous rise of community pantries all over the country, the innate kindness of people has become so evident. We’ve seen that even the people who had so little would still share it out of their generosity.
These community pantries have also provided creative opportunities for Filipinos to help out. One example of this is a particular community pantry in Laguna.

Justine Olaes, one of the volunteers of the community pantry, shares that they reached a point when supplies for the pantry were running low. That’s when a group of musicians, initiated by Alyssa Genil, approached them to offer their talent in hopes of raising more funds for the community pantry.

“Hindi lang sa salapi at pagkain ang paraan ng pagtulong, pati talento pwedeng ipang-ambag (Money and food aren’t the only ways to help, even talents can be shared),” they said.

So, the musicians started busking right in front of the community pantry, allowing passersby to enjoy live music while donating to the cause. The street performance lasted 5 hours.
