LOOK: These Flower Teas are Not Just Delicious, They Look Beautiful, Too!

Natures Apothecary

When it comes to tea, the most popular variants are black teas like Earl Grey and green ones like sencha. While these are great, the world of tea is brimming with possibilities and flavors. We recently got to try the flower teas from Nature’s Apothecary, an all-natural online shop for the health-conscious. They started with products like wild honey and salabat, then ventured into superfoods. Now,  one of their star products is the Flower Power, a collection of four flower teas that are not only delicious, they are beautiful to look at, too!

What we love about the Flower Power collection of Nature’s Apothecary is that they are loose, meaning you have to scoop them into a teapot or a strainer. A benefit of loose tea is that you know that you are getting bigger cuts or whole leaves (flowers in this case) instead of tiny bits of leftovers that you get with mass-produced ones.

Natures Apothecary Farm

This collection has four variants: the lavender, chamomile, hibiscus, and butterfly pea. The flavors were selected based on their familiarity, health benefits, and availability. What’s impressive about Nature’s Apothecary teas is that the butterfly pea and hibiscus flowers are grown and harvested from their farm in Agusan del Norte, Mindanao!

We tried them all out and here’s what we think:

Lavender

Natures Apothecary Lavender

Lavender is one of my favorite fragrances. I have essential oils, lotions, bars of soap, sleep balms, candles, and cleaning products that diffuse this lovely aroma. I’ve heard of lavender tea but I’ve always been wary because I can’t imagine consuming something that I usually smell at home. I’m happy I got to try it because it’s better than I thought. I was expecting it to taste like potpourri but it has a subtle flowery flavor with just a quiet hint of lavender. Definitely a must-try for fans of the fragrance! Like with anything that smells like lavender, this tea is said to improve your sleep and mood, alleviate stress, and keep you calm.

Chamomile

Natures Apothecary Chamomile

Chamomile tea is popular and for good reason. It relaxes the nerves and soothes your nervous system so you get a better night’s sleep. It helps with stomaches, period pains, and muscle spasms. This is the perfect drink if you want to slow down and chill. Nature’s Apothecary serves whole chamomile flowers so you get a potent tea that gives all the floral and sweet taste.

Hibiscus

Hibiscus tea is another popular variant because of its benefits. It’s packed with antioxidants to help prevent damage and disease caused by free radicals, and it helps lower blood pressure. It’s also well-loved because of its taste, a strong tart flavor that will perk you up. Nature’s Apothecary’s version is blended with goji berries, making the drink even more refreshing.

Butterfly Pea

Natures Apothecary Blue Butterfly

This curiously-blue concoction is the Blue Butterfly Pea, made from the flower of the same name. We only just heard of this variant last year so we were surprised to know that it has been used for centuries in traditional Ayurvedic medicine. It’s used as a memory enhancer, brain booster, and an anti-stress and calmative agent. The taste is slightly earthy and floral, and we recommend this for those who enjoy sweet teas!
