Jayzer “Jazz” Amahan, who recently sent us photos he took of the Lyrids meteor shower, shared more images, this time of the supermoon last night, April 27, 2021.

The photos were taken around 7:00 PM at Tetuan, Zamboanga City.

Last night’s supermoon is the first of 2021. According to PAGASA, “The moon will be 357,378 kilometers away from Earth, the closest that the moon comes to the Earth in its elliptic orbit, resulting in a slightly larger-than-usual apparent size of the lunar disk as viewed from Earth.”

According to National Geographic, a supermoon is when “the moon appears larger and brighter than any other time.”
