The Bureau of Customs intercepted a smuggled sports car at the Port of Manila. According to reports, the McLaren 620R supercar is worth 33 Million Pesos.
Through BOC’s Customs Intelligence and Investigation service, the operatives found out that the shipment was declared as a brand-new Porsche Cayman to escape bigger taxes and duties worth 16.7 Million Pesos.
The shipment was immediately seized and detained upon learning that the consignee allegedly declared taxes and duties to be 1.5 Million pesos. The consignee and broker possibly violated the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
