In Vietnam, “rice ATMs” are available for citizens that are affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
To date, Vietnam has 265 cases of COVID-19 but the government has enforced social distancing to prevent the spread of the disease.
For people who are out of work, many businessmen and donors have set-up the Rice ATMS to different cities in Vietnam.
According to VNA, large water tanks in Hanoi are used to pour rice into resident’s bags from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
In Ho Chi Minh City, 24/7 rice ATMs are available while inย the central city of Hue, a rice ATM ย provides 2 kilograms of free rice for residents.
