All eyes were on Pippa Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge’s younger sister, as she wed financier James Matthew in a beautiful ceremony Saturday at St. Mark’s Church in Englefield, west of London.
Yet in the star-studded wedding, which included high-profile guests such as brother-in-law Prince William, Prince Harry, and tennis star Roger Federer, a certain royal nephew unwittingly shared the spotlight with the blushing bride.
Prince George, who was pageboy at his aunt’s wedding, was seen briefly sobbing after receiving a light scolding from his mother Kate outside the church, shortly after the ceremony ended.
It is believed that the four-year-old prince had a bit of a tantrum, and stepped on aunt Pippa’s £40,000 wedding dress (about P2.5 million).
The young royal wasn’t sad for very long, and was seen perking up soon after. Guests told reporters that Prince George and Princess Charlotte were “very well-behaved” at the wedding party.
Pippa, who has made waves in recent years as a British fashion icon, wore a stunning laced dress with a high neckline and corseted bodice by English designer Giles Deacon.
James, 41, and Pippa, 33, first briefly dated in 2012, and rekindled their romance last year. The couple announced their engagement in July 2016, after James popped the question at the Lake District. Pippa and James’ nuptials are considered to be the society wedding of the year.
