LOOK: President Duterte’s Trademark “Fist for Change and Integrity” Showcased at the Pamulak Kadayawan 2016

Our tough and crime-buster President Rodrigo Duterte has many mannerisms and staple poses. One of which is his remarkable pose with his fist closed as a symbol of change and integrity. Such is the representation of one of the participants of the recent Pamulak sa Kadayawan Festival 2016 in Davao City.

The Kadayawan Festival is an annual thanksgiving event in Davao City. It’s an event where people are grateful for the gifts of nature, the wealth of culture, the bounties of harvest and serenity of living. It is usually held every third week of August.

According to my relatives in Davao, the name “Kadayawan” was derived from the friendly greeting “Madayaw”, from the Dabawenyo word “dayaw.” Wikipedia also confirmed that the word means good, valuable, superior or beautiful.

This year, VXI Global Solutions joined the Kadayawan 2016 to show the Dabawenyos their heartfelt gratitude for a bountiful year thru their entry for Pamulak Kadayawan Float Parade.

This amazing float was designed using flowers and other indigenous materials creatively arranged to portray the following elements:

  • The Orange Ribbon represents the VXI’s new logo which is significant to the company’s milestone.
  • VXI is one with the President’s desire for change and symbolizes integrity.
  • Ultimately, the “Passion for People” banner that symbolizes the epitome of commitment in taking care of their people just as how President Duterte took care of the Davaoenos.
