In desperate bid to prevent the further spread of the new coronavirus that causes the fatal COVID-19, a police officer in India wears a “coronavirus helmet” to warn people to stay home.

Watch it below.

An artist named Gowtham collaborated with the local police and produced the eye-catching “coronavirus helmet.”

“People are not hygienic enough,” Gowtham said. “We have government orders not to come out — but still, we’re seeing people roaming here and there without proper safety equipment, without masks.”

The artist believed that residents are not taking the issue seriously because the virus seemed invisible. with this, he came up with something that people could actually see as if the virus is really coming towards them.

“People will be frightened,” he added.

According to the local police, the helmet is proving to be effective and it makes people more aware of the situation.

Police Inspector Rajesh Babu from Chennai wore the helmet while stopping vehicles and pedestrians at checkpoints.
