Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has just released commemorative stamps featuring the three Filipinas who have won the Miss Universe pageant: Gloria Diaz (1969), Margarita Moran (1973) and Pia Wurtzbach (2015).
The first stamp design with Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz was earlier released in 1994, the year when the Miss Universe pageant was last held in the Philippines. The second design with Miss Universe 1973 Margarita Moran was also released in 1994. The third one of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach was released last year in celebration of her victory.
All three beauty queens were part of the PHLPost Living Legends roster along with the first Miss World from the Philippines Meagan Lynne Young and Filipino world boxing champion Senator Manny Pacquiao. Living Legends are living personalities who have been featured on stamps because of the pride and honor they have brought to the country.
The Miss Universe stamps can be bought individually for P12, P17 and P55, respectively. A souvenir sheet containing all three stamp designs can also be availed for P100 The Gloria Diaz stamp can be used for ordinary mails within Luzon, the Margarita Moran stamp for ordinary mails sent to the Visayas and Mindanao, and the Pia Alonzo-Wurtzbach stamp for mails within Asia.
