LOOK: Philippines records highest number of COVID-19 recoveries today

Here’s a bit of hopeful news.

The Department of Health (DOH) announced on Friday that there are 289 new COVID-19 recoveries, which is the highest reported so far in a single day so far in the Philippines. This puts the total recovery tally to 5,454.

Moreover, this is the second, consecutive time that the record was broken this week after 270 recoveries were confirmed on Thursday.

On the other hand, the Philippines has 24,787 total number of infections after the DOH confirmed 615 additional cases.

Of these new cases, 336 were labeled “fresh” (results released to patients within last 3 days) while the remaining 279 were “late” (results released 4 days ago or more).

Meanwhile, there are 1,052 total deaths after 16 more patients passed away due to COVID-19.
