Summer is here!
We can now really feel the heat such that when we take our 8 AM walk somewhere, we feel all sweaty as if it was already 11 AM. We always need to have a bottle of cold water nearby to quench our thirst. At times, we even need to buy from Manong Sorbetero some ice cream to cool us off.
In line with summer being officially here, the Palace declared that Mocha will now be the national ice cream flavor. With all the misunderstandings and issues in the government lately, this move aims to invoke unity among Filipinos. The Palace hopes that this will be a good start for Filipinos all over the country and the world to start agreeing with each other.
A lot of people are onboard this which is why it was quickly approved. They feel that Mocha is the right flavor because it’s kayumanggi, which is similar to the color of our skin that we all should be proud of. Also, it gives the taste of two flavors – coffee and chocolate.
The Palace has already issued a memo for this.

The memo will take effect today. We heard many supermarkets will offer “Buy One, Take One” ice cream promos and will make their Mocha cheap so many people can avail. There will also be “free taste” events all over the country.
Still, there are those who are against this. The so-called “yellow army” are planning on going on a strike on EDSA because they believe mangga should be the national ice cream flavor of the country because they love all things yellow and our mangga is delicious!
The Binays released a statement that they don’t agree with this and that dark chocolate should be the national ice cream flavor. They plan to take this to court.
Meanwhile, the incumbent vice president strongly believes that the national ice cream flavor should be pili nut to boost this product from her homeland, Bicol.
