On Tuesday, June 6, Nintendo officially introduced the new OLED Switch which, as the name suggests, boasts of a larger 7-inch 720p OLED display. It’s noticeably much longer and heavier and has the following new features:

  • a longer adjustable stand
  • a new dock with a wired ethernet port
  • 64GB of internal storage (double than the original)
  • improved audio; and
  • support of up to 1080p via HDMI in TV mode.

Other than that, however, you can still expect it to function the same way as the Nintendo Switch. Original Joy-cons will also be compatible with this new OLED model and all games will be playable with it as well.

Right now, the new Switch will come in two color variations: one with white Joy-cons and a white dock, and one with the traditional colorway of red and blue Joy-cons and a black dock. It will be released on October 8, 2021, for the price of US$350 (PHP 17.5K).
