LOOK: Nick Jonas Will Be in the Jumanji Sequel!

Those who grew up in the ’90s were probably fans of Jumanji, that epic movie about a board game that has very real consequences (like a lion and a man-eating plant). It came out in 1995, but I still have vivid memories of that movie, and still count it as one of my favorites. For others like me who consider Jumanji a classic, the news of its sequel is exciting news. And there’s already a new actor joining: Nick Jonas.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson announced the news on Instagram by posting a photo of the two of them in costume. He captioned his photo with “Officially welcoming my guy @Nick Jonas to #Jumanji. Great dude, great positive energy and very talented. He’s gonna kill this role like I kill things with my bare hands. The jungle awaits. The adventure continues. And ironically the one who sings the most on set is Jack Black. #OnLocation #Hawaii #WelcomeToTheFamilyNick #Jumanji.”

There’s still no word what Jonas will play, but he will join Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan.

Johnson, Hart, Black, and Gillan will play the “avatars” of four teenagers who discover the game while stuck in detention.

Johnson also clarified that this version of Jumanji is not a reboot but a continuation.

Jumanji will premiere on July 28, 2017.
