With many private companies hard at work to help front-liners, Mega Global Corp., the Philippines’ largest sardine fishing and canning operator, and proud makers of Mega Sardines— is not one to be left behind.

Through their foundation— the Mega Tiu Lim Foundation— Mega Global Corp. has been busy helping the Philippines combat the aftermath of COVID-19 with various initiatives that help their employees, local communities, healthcare institutions, and most importantly, the front-liners. Since the start of the crisis, they’ve pledged P50 million to aid the community and their employees. In addition, they’ve implemented a safety net to help their workers, who have kept the company running smoothly despite the enhanced community quarantine.

Aside from their own employees, Mega Global recognizes the selfless efforts of our country’s front-liners. These modern-day heroes come in different uniforms— from healthcare professionals, security officials, and public servants. But Mega Global also pays attention to the unseen front-liners, which include the merchandisers and supermarket staff. To help support them, Mega provided care packages for the very people who work tirelessly to provide us with our essentials.

Mega Malasakit Kitchen

Understanding the needs of all hardworking front-liners, Mega Global created their own feeding program: the Mega Malasakit Kitchen.

The goal is to provide 500 meals daily to the security team manning the checkpoints, the supermarket staff, and barangay health officials. This is in partnership with Lin’s Kitchen, Doña Maria, Ideal Macaroni, Lemon Square Lava Cake, 3J Plasticworld and Mtg. Corp., Fishta Seafood, Fish ‘n Chix, and Rizons ICA Batch ’97.

William Tiu Lim, the CEO of Mega Global Corporation, strongly stresses the importance of Mega Global’s moral responsibility. Although these are difficult times, he ensures that the brand will take care of our front-liners, while maintaining logistics, and calibrating their operations to help out in every way they can.

“Through our humble contributions, we are confident that we can keep the Bayanihan spirit alive. In good times and in bad, Mega Global will always be here to keep the Filipino community strong,” he adds.

Donations in Times of Need

Although the end is still uncertain, Mega Global believes that they can still do their part. Aside from their pledge and meals, Mega Global has also been busy donating canned goods to various charity drives, LGUs, and other organizations. They even promise to help hospitals in Metro Manila and Zamboanga by providing medical equipment.

“Rest assured, that no matter how uncertain times may seem, Mega Global will always be one with the Filipino as they face and overcome any challenge. We commit to do the best we can to keep on catching, producing and distributing our canned food products to the Filipino people in these times“, added Tiu Lim.
