After netizens have criticized actor-host Luis Manzano online for remaining silent amid the issue regarding the denial of a fresh franchise of ABS-CBN Network, girlfriend Jessy Mendiola has come to his defense.

On Instagram, Jessy published a statement on her stories to accompany a photo she took of Luis looking pensive while on his mobile phone. “This man has been working the phone for the past 3 days,” she began, before revealing what Luis has actually been busy with in reaction to the news.
Apparently, Luis has been organizing a job fair with friends intended to help the employees of ABS-CBN who have been or will be laid-off from work as a result of the network shutdown.
“Alam ko na hindi ko na dapat ito i-post. Pero sobrang proud ako sa’yo love [I know I should not post this. But I am so proud of you love],” she said. “You’ve been putting others first before yourself.”
She shared that Luis’s first concern following the denial of the fresh franchise was his staff from his television shows. She didn’t like how people were assuming that he wasn’t using his voice, so she took it upon herself to show everyone the active steps he’s been taking to help.
“Sinasabi ng iba, tahimik ka lang daw sa kasagsagan ng nangyayari. Ang hindi nila alam… gumagalaw ka na pala para sa mga nawalan ng trabaho. Hindi man lahat matutulungan mo, ang importante ginagawa mo lahat abot sa makakaya mo,” she added.
