Riverdale star Lili Reinhart officially opened up about her sexuality to fans and followers in an Instagram post today, June 4 Manila time, as she showed her support for an “LGBTQ+ for Black Lives Matter” protest in West Hollywood following the controversial death of a black man, George Floyd, while in police custody over a week ago.

On the post, Lili revealed: “Although I’ve never announced it publicly before, I am a proud bisexual woman.” She then shared that she will be joining the scheduled protest.

Lili has been using her social media platform to speak out against racism and the Black Lives Matter movement as people across the United States have taken to the streets to demand justice for the victims of racial discrimination and police brutality.

“I want to say that I am ashamed of the racism that exists in this country. We are taught to look at our police officers as helpful and friendly when we learn about ‘leaders’ in elementary school. Our ‘leaders’ have failed us today,” she tweeted.

“I can’t begin to imagine the horror of worrying that you won’t be protected by your “leaders” because of the color of your skin. I know that white privilege exists and I [could] never fully understand what it’s like to be oppressed because of my race.”

On May 25, George was suspected of using a counterfeit US$20 bill while buying a pack of cigarettes in a convenience store. He died after a white police officer knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes.
