Kim Chiu is the lead star of this new upcoming horror movie to be directed by Derick Cabrido (who helmed the widely-acclaimed horror film, Clarita, starring Jodi Sta. Maria), as announced in the official social media accounts of Star Cinema.

In a press conference last Thursday, December 5, Kim couldn’t help but express her excitement for the untitled project especially since it’s out of her comfort zone.
“Masaya ako na pinagkakatiwalaan ako sa mga horror films. It’s really out of my comfort zone kasi in real life, ayoko talaga sa multo pero sinusundan talaga nila ako sa movie,” she shared.
(“I’m very happy that they trust me to do horror films. It’s really out of my comfort zone because, in real life, I’m scared of ghosts but I end up doing movies about them.”)
“Hindi naman ako malungkutin, hindi naman ako mahilig sa mga ganyan, so challenge siya for me. Every time I do a horror movie, it’s a challenge for me na mapaniwala ko ‘yung mga tao na kailangan nilang matakot,” she added.
(“I’m not a sad or emotional person, I’m not used to being that, so it’s a challenge for me. Every time I do a horror movie, it’s a challenge for me to put on a believable act and to frighten them.”)
And doing the movie alongside her are JM De Guzman and Tony Labrusca—two actors she has never worked with before.

When asked about his role, JM said: “I feel blessed na makakasama ako dito. Na-overwhelm ako and excited. Siguro gusto ko lang muna mag-focus sa role na binigay sa akin.”
(“I feel blessed to be included in this project. I’m overwhelmed and excited. Maybe it’s because I just want to focus on my role at this moment.”)
Meanwhile, Tony shared that this is the first time he’ll ever work in a horror film and is admittedly quite nervous about it.
“At first, I was very honest with direk (the director), like, ‘Are you sure you want me?’ Kasi (Because) I mean I believe in you guys but I’m not sure if I necessarily believe in myself yet,” he said.
Though no further details have been revealed yet, we’re already looking forward to seeing what these three will bring to the table in this upcoming film.
