LOOK: KC Concepcion Meets Sarah Jessica Parker at the “And Just Like That” Premiere

Sex and the City fans all over the world were thrilled at the release of And Just Like That, the new chapter of the groundbreaking HBO series Sex and the City.

The 10-episode series follows Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s.

KC Concepcion got an extra special treat because she got to join the premiere in New York City. What’s even more special is that she got to meet the star of the show, Sarah Jessica Parker!

On Instagram, she said, “And just like that… some new dreams I dreamed came true.”

Concepcion also snapped selfies with talk show host, producer, and writer Andy Cohen, and fashion designer Prabal Gurung.

In another post, she said, “My heartfelt thanks to the NY/CA GUCCI Team for bringing forth my inner Carrie Bradshaw at last night’s intimate #AndJustLikeThat premiere ? I had so much fun with this!!!”

She added, “Especially grateful for my dear @marsbe who was hard at work playing dress up with me to properly celebrate the new chapter of Sex and the City! @hbomax fam, especially my dearest @jpreyesmallo, thank you for inviting me as your guest to celebrate friendship, fashion, love, and most of all, life.”

Concepcion ended the post with a quote from the show, “It wasn’t logic, it was love.”

Sex and the City

When the show premiered in 1998, it was considered revolutionary as the series followed four single female friends in New York City openly talking about their love and sex lives.

Time included the series in its list of All-TIME 100 TV Shows in 2007, while TV Guide dubbed it as one of its 60 Best Series of All Time in 2013. More recently, Sex and the City has been included in the best TV shows of all time by Rolling Stone (2016), The Guardian (2019), and Games Radar (2020).

It spawned two film adaptations and a prequel series called The Carrie Diaries.

Sadly, Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones in the original run, is not part of the new series.

It comes as no surprise that Cattrall will not be joining the revival. In 2019, The Daily Mail asked if she would appear in another Sex and the City movie. She responded, “Never. It’s a no from me.”

Rumors of a feud between Cattrall and Parker have swirled for years, dating back to the show’s second season in 1999. The cast and crew denied all rumors, but they began to speak out after the show ended in 2004.

And Just Like That

Filipinos can look forward to And Just Like That, which debuted the same time as the U.S. with two episodes on December 9 on HBO GO. The following eight episodes will premiere weekly on subsequent Thursdays.
