LOOK: Japanese Horror Franchise ‘Ju-On’ Returns with a New Netflix Series

Prepare to get nightmares for days.

Netflix just announced that it will be premiering a new original series based on the popular Japanese horror franchise, Ju-On.

Ju-On has been scaring audiences around the world since 2000 with its first two hit movies, Ju-On: The Curse and Ju-On: The Curse 2. Later, a third movie, Ju-On: The Grudge was released and eventually inspired Western remakes The Grudge and The Grudge 2. After many other titles, the franchise supposedly ended with the premiere of Ju-On: The Final Curse in 2015, but it seems that there’s still a lot more to tell!

The new series, titled Ju-On: Origins, will introduce the character Haruka Honjo, a rookie actress, who seeks the help of psychic researcher Yasuo Odajima after hearing footsteps inside her house at night.

It’s slated to have six episodes which will be released on July 3, 2020.
