LOOK: Inday Sara Duterte Jokes About Recording an Album, Responds to Backlash

First Lady Inday Sara Duterte is known for being a woman of steel. In 2011, the then mayor of Davao City punched a court sheriff four times after he attempted to demolish shanties in a lot in Barangay Soliman, Agdao. While lawyers criticized the move, Inday cemented her family’s reputation for their tough approach to caring for Davao’s people. Now, Sara is showing her funny side, and when it got lost in translation, she had a few words to say.

Yesterday, the First Lady posted a selfie in a studio and said that she was recording her first solo album. She said on Facebook, “Recording my first solo album at Colang Recording Studio with my Phelps Dodge boss Ma’am Mercy. Please support my first single “Walang Forever” ???????????? ‪#‎singsingsing‬ ‪#‎dancedancedance‬ ‪#‎dancesinglovelive‬ ‪#‎goodvibes‬.”

It turned out be a joke, which she herself revealed when a netizen decided to call out Sara. The netizen said:

WTF! Magtrabaho po kayo mayor, 600T ang bumoto po sa inyo. Instead na magtrabaho kayo eh nung day 1 pa lang ay leave na agad. We cannot entrust the affairs of the city to your incompetent brother. Ang daming problema ang ating city na kailangan solusyonan agad, please lang po, trabaho na!

(WTF! You should work, mayor, because 600,000 people voted fr you. Instead of working, you chose to file a leave on your first day. We cannot entrust the affairs of the city to your incompetent brother. We have a lot of problems in the city that needs to be resolved right away, so please get to work!)

Sara, who responds to comments on Facebook, answered:

WTF mo rin ka. Matuto ka umintindi ng joke sa post at social media. Kaya nga ako nag leave kasi ayaw ko gawin personal ko na trabaho sa mga oras na bayad ng gobyerno!!! Ikaw ang incompetent na commenter, buhay mo nasa facebook lang! Magtrabaho ka na rin!

(WTF to you, too. Learn to understand jokes on posts and on social media. I filed a leave because I don’t want to do personal things and be paid using public funds!!! You are the incompetent commenter, your life is just on Facebook. Go to work, too!)

A publication also wrote about the story, which Sara also shared. She captioned the post with, “It’s a joke. It was a Bilibid prisoner recording joke. Please do not take me seriously. Pastilan. Haaaayysst.”

Earlier this month, it was reported that a high-profile drug lord shot a music video while in the New Bilibid Prison.
