LOOK: Here’s Robin Padilla’s Opinion on Why Aga Muhlach Didn’t Win MMFF 2019 Best Actor Award

Aga Muhlach was the crowd choice to win Best Actor for his Metro Manila Film Festival 2019 film Miracle in Cell No. 7 but lost to Allen Dizon of Best Picture Mindanao. On Instagram, Robin Padilla shared his thoughts on why this was so.

On the caption of his post, Robin congratulated Aga for his performance and expressed that he “is a reasonable man” who must be “very happy for that young actor from the movie Mindanao.”

Robin then continued in the comments section: “Sa akin opinyon baka dahil Adaptation po kasi ang [‘Miracle’] kaya nahirapan po ito lumusot sa criteria ng mga masusing artist at jurors pero sigurado po ako sa kanilang puso ay nagmarka ang [‘Miracle’]. (In my opinion, maybe it’s because “Miracle in Cell No. 7” is just an adaptation that’s why it had a difficult time passing the criteria of the meticulous artists and jurors, but I’m sure that “Miracle” touched their hearts.)”

He added: “God willing may ibang award giving bodies pa naman kaya sa ngayon ay ipagdiwang muna natin ang tagumpay sa takilya ng pelikula ni Mr Aga tutal alam naman natin lahat na best actor of all time si Muhlach. (God willing, there will be other award-giving bodies, so for now let’s celebrate the box-office success of Mr. Aga’s film. After all, we all know that he is the best actor of all time.)”

He also asked everyone to support the film Mindanao and find out why it won so many awards this MMFF 2019.

Aga responded to Robin’s praise in the comments.

Kapatid! Maraming salamat for your kind words. Pls allow me to use your space para pasalamatan lahat ng sumuporta sa pelikulang “Miracle in Cell no 7”. Maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat (Brother! Thank you for your kind words. Please allow me to use your space to thank everyone who supported the film “Miracle in Cell No. 7.” Thank you so much, everyone),” he said.

“Pls allow me also to congratulate the [movie] “Mindanao” for all the awards they got. They are all deserving of these,” he continued. “Masaya ako sa para sa tagumpay ng Bawat sino man satin sa industriya ng pelikulang pilipino. We do films because we love our jobs bilang artista at kung tayong lahat ay mabigyan ng papuri ay isang malaking karangalan na. Sa lahat ng kalahok na pelikula sa MMFF 2019, isang napakalaking karangalan para sakin na makasama ko kayo at mapabilang sa hanay ninyo. Mabuhay kayo! Mabuhay ang pelikulang pilipino! (I am happy for the success of everyone in the industry of Filipino films. We do films because we love our jobs as artists and if we are all given praise, it’s already a huge honor. To all the movies that participated in the MMFF 2019, it’s a huge honor for me to be with all of you and join your ranks. Long live! Long live Filipino films!)”

He also expressed his wish to Robin to work together someday and thanked him again for his post.
