Christmas is upon us and with 2021 right around the corner, many of us are planning to go on that much-needed trip. Since most destinations are requiring RT-PCR test, many are looking for accredited testing centers that are affordable.
Luckily, the Department of Tourism is offering to subsidize 50% of your RT-PCR test to help boost tourism, gain back the confidence of travelers, and promote safe travels.
According to Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, they are making sure that destinations are ready to accept tourists, and they have strict safety and health protocols in place. She has been traveling to DOT accredited destinations to make sure that safety is a top priority.
To get the 50% subsidy from the DOT for your domestic travels, you need to register at https://www.tpb.gov.ph/rtpcrphtravel/ 5 days before the intended travel. You will also need a government ID, confirmed accommodation, and ticket details.
The 50% subsidy is only applicable at UP-PGH’s swab testing facility as part of the Department of Tourism’s partnership with the hospital and the Tourism Promotion Board.
