With COVID-19 vaccinations being rolled out by local government units, businesses are also stepping up to vaccinate their employees.
Here are just some companies that have committed to offering COVID-19 vaccines to their employees:
Macao Imperial Tea and other restaurants under the Fredley Group of Companies
The hit milk tea chain will be offering a free vaccination program for its employees. The program is available for all concepts under the Fredley Group of Companies, which includes New York Fries and Dips, Nabe Japanese Izakaya + Hot Pot, Mitasu Yakiniku, Hosaku International Buffet, Liang Crispy Roll, Café Kitsuné, and Maison Kitsuné. In an exclusive interview with Founder and CEO Avin Ong, he revealed that a deal with Moderna has been signed and that they are just waiting for the shipment. Free vaccines are also available for employees’ household members.
Concentrix
Concentrix, the Philippines’ largest private employer, revealed that they have placed an initial order of 50,000 doses from AstraZeneca. According to Concentrix Senior Vice-President and Philippines Country Leader Amit Jagga, “We will have it as soon as the Philippine government authorities are able to get it into the country. As other vaccines are approved and as we get access to them, we are committed to continue to provide them for free to our staff.”
Jollibee and other restaurants under Jollibee Foods Corp.
Jollibee Foods Corp. will be vaccinating all its employees at Jollibee, Chowking, Mang Inasal, Greenwich, Burger King, Red Ribbon, Panda Express, and PHO24. Those working at commissaries, distribution centers, support functions, and the Jollibee Group Foundation are included in the program. Vaccines will also be given to the employees’ dependents, extended families, and household members.
McDonald’s

McDonald’s has purchased close to 100,000 COVID-19 vaccines, half of which will be donated to the government. According to President and CEO Kenneth S. Yang, “With the health and safety of people being our top priority, we will be providing the COVID-19 vaccine for free for our frontliners–crew and managers, in all company-owned restaurants nationwide. It is our responsibility to keep our people safe so that our customers will be, too.”
NutriAsia
NutriAsia has committed to providing free COVID-19 vaccines to its employees and their qualified dependents to protect them and safeguard their good health. “We are choosing to proactively be part of the solution to end the worst public health crisis in a century with the decision to give our employees and three of their qualified dependents the option to be vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus,” shared Joselito Campos, Jr., chairman of NutriAsia.
Grab

According to Grab group CEO Anthony Tan, their GrabForGood Fund will include vaccination for eligible drivers and delivery partners in Southeast Asia. Under the GrabForGood program, the company will fully cover the cost of the COVID-19 vaccine who are not covered by the national vaccination program of their countries. They are currently sourcing the vaccines and planning to set up their vaccine centers for rollout.

Golden ABC, Inc., which is the home of the brands mentioned above, announced on March 26, 2021 that it will be vaccinating its employees for free. According to a Facebook post, “the company is currently conducting its rollout of vaccine educational seminars across its roster of employees.” Earlier, Golden ABC, Inc. joined a tripartite agreement between the Department of Health, AstraZeneca, and the private sector to secure the vaccines.

According to President and CEO Kingson Sian, “Our vaccination program is well underway with our efforts to bring in enough vaccine doses, which will be provided for free to our own employees, as well as our partners and other stakeholders.” Resorts World Manila has also launched a vaccine education program, as well as acceptance and readiness among its employees and the public.

Under VXI’s A Dose of Hope program, the BPO will deliver COVID-19 vaccinations free of charge to its entire Philippine workforce of 20,000 employees. In January, they announced that they have ordered 80,000 vaccine doses. Jared Morrison, VXI’s COO, said, “We are committed to doing all we can to keep our employees safe and to keep the economy going.”

According to Accenture Philippines Country Managing Director Lito Tayag, “Accenture will cover the cost of the COVID-19 vaccination for our people in the Philippines who are eligible and who choose to receive it.” Apart from the vaccine, employees will receive a one-time bonus, “equal to one week of base pay for all employees below the managing director.”

San Miguel Corporation

Ramon Ang shared that San Miguel has secured enough vaccines from various sources to vaccinate all of its 70,000 employees. He said, “Our program is in line with our core value of malasakit (compassion) and aims to create a safe and healthy workplace so that we can further contribute to our country’s economic recovery.” San Miguel has reportedly spent P1 billion for the vaccines.

Coca-Cola has committed to providing free vaccines for its 10,000 employees and their families. “Our People-First commitment means that we are responsible for our employees and their families especially during these most challenging times,” said CCBPI president and CEO Gareth McGeown.

Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc., which manufactures Pepsi-Cola, Mountain Dew, 7-Up, Mirinda, Mug, Gatorade, Tropicana, Lipton, and Premier, has ordered 20,000 doses of the vaccine. “Providing free vaccines is essential to a healthy and safe working environment at PCPPI. The inoculation will be voluntary but we highly encourage everyone to be vaccinated. This is to show gratitude to our employees who have all worked hard during the pandemic,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Frederick D. Ong.

The Ayala Group has already signed purchase deals for one million vaccine doses for its employees. Its mass vaccination is scheduled to begin on June 1, 2021, with a target of 10,000 shots per day across 20 mega vaccination sites set up around the country. As of March 19, around 1,400 frontliners from the group’s Qualidemed hospitals and isolation centers have already been vaccinated.

GMA announced last March that it would be vaccinating employees and talents. This includes regular and probationary employees, project employees, and exclusive talents on a voluntary basis. “This vaccination coverage will enable us to continue delivering Serbisyong Totoo to the public as we all strive to win against this pandemic,” GMA Network Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon revealed.
Aboitiz Power, UnionBank, Pilmico Foods, Aboitiz InfraCapital, Aboitiz Construction, and Aboitiz Land
In a statement, Aboitiz Group shared that it will be vaccinating its 30,000 employees. Sabin Aboitiz, Aboitiz Group president and chief executive officer, shared, “Even before the vaccines arrive, we have been planning for the efficient distribution of vaccines for our team members and subcontractors, in adherence to government guidelines. This is to ensure an effective deployment program.”
