LOOK: This Gaming App is Designed Like a COVID-19 Game

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we have been stuck at home for what seems like the longest time now. Although there are many things that you can do during this time, we won’t blame you if you are already at that point where you’re looking for new things to do. It has been more than a month by now, after all.

If this is the case, you might want to check out this new locally made gaming app ‘Gummy Pulp’ that 34-year-old Axel Bryan Casauran created a few weeks ago, which app is designed like a COVID-19 game. “The main idea of creating the game is to fight COVID-19 in real life by playing the app while staying at home,” Axel explains. “I hope in this little way I can encourage everyone to stay at home.”

Axel shares that he had already been creating a different game a month prior to the coronavirus pandemic. Once the lockdown was implemented, however, he found himself with more free time to do research. That’s when he decided to halt the initial project and create a new game for this COVID-19 period.

Axel reflects: “A lot of people are affected by COVID-19 – from students to working people. Most are angry and disappointed, blaming people or even the government, and ranting on social media. I created Gummy Pulp to get the attention of all of the affected people in world to somehow allow them to pause, calm down, and enjoy the game while at home or even put all their anger into destroying COVID-19 in the game. I believe that even just a fraction of their time staying at home is already a big impact and a big contribution in not spreading the virus.”

According to Axel, Gummy Pulp is pretty similar to Candy Crush, so it’s very easy to use and play. It’s completely FREE of charge with NO BANNERS or POP-UP ADS (unless you want to get an extra coin). “Not everyone can be a frontliner,” Axel adds, “but if this act can make an impact, then everyone can be a frontliner, too!”

Axel works as a senior application developer at iRely LLC in Makati and as an entrepreneur at night. He also does photography, writes poems, and loves doing charity work. (Find out more about him here.)
