We’ve got your Foodie Fridays plans covered for the whole month of August because there’s a newly launched buffet experience in Manila. Restaurant 5, one of the in-house restaurants of Discovery Suites, just launched “Vamos A Comer!”, a limited-time-only Fil-Mex lunch buffet.
This special lunch buffet is a collaboration between Discovery Suites and Buen Comer, a beloved Mexican restaurant in Diliman, Quezon City.
Discovery Suites’ Executive Chef, Gerwin Bailon, is actually long-time friends with Buen Comer’s chefs, Chefs Miko Badillo and Francis Buhay. So, it’s not just a collaboration of two great restaurants in Metro Manila, but also “a celebration of food culture, creativity, and friendship,” says Executive Chef Gerwin Bailon.
Buen Comer is known for the creative Filipino twists they’ve incorporated into classic Mexican dishes. You can expect that same level of creativity combined with the contemporary culinary experience offered at Discovery Suites’ Restaurant 5.

Restaurant 5 will be offering Buen Comer’s famous Kare-Kare Burrito, and Sisig and Kinilaw Tacos at their Live Station. Be warned, those two dishes are addicting!
Also included on the menu are Mexican Rice, Calabasitas, Pan Fried Fish with Jalapeño and Salted Egg Salsa, Caldereta Enchiladas (must-try!), Pinoy Pollo Asado (so tasty!), and Chicken Fajita Spaghetti (another must-try!).
For dessert, there are Churros with Chocolate Tablea Sauce, Choco Flan with Kapeng Barako, and Buco Pandan Tres Leches Cake which was definitely my favorite.
This special collaboration offers such a flavorful gastronomic experience that highlights the best of Fil-Mex food! Of course, what makes it even better is that you get to enjoy unlimited servings of your favorite dishes.
Restaurant 5 at Discovery Suites’ “Vamos A Comer!” lunch buffet special will be available on all Fridays of August, from 12 NN to 2:30 PM, at PHP 950+ per head.
