LOOK: Disney Reveals Film Slate For The Next 8 Years; Sets Future for Marvel, Star Wars, and Avatar

Having finalized their acquisition of 21st Century Fox, Disney is finally at liberty to announce its grand plan for the foreseeable future. They recently released a list of nearly 65 movies to be shown over the course of 8 years. While many of the movies were either previously announced titles or still unnamed movies, the vague list does give us space to infer.

The first notable additions are the newly acquired Fox properties like The New Mutants which is to be released on April 3, 2020, and an untitled Kingsman movie in the same year. Avatar 2 will be released the following year in 2021 and will be followed by 3 more Avatar movies until 2027. Gambit is conspicuously missing from the list, though this project has been on shaky grounds ever since.

Other interesting details are the 3 untitled Star Wars films slated to appear despite Disney CEO Bob Iger previously stating the franchise would slow down on production after The Rise of Skywalker. While Marvel will only be releasing 2 films next year, as opposed to the regular schedule of 3 movies per year. This is most likely due to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 being pushed back.
