If you grew up watching anime, it’s close to impossible to have never heard of popular series Captain Tsubasa which tells the story of the titular character and his quest to become a football champion.
Since its debut in 1981, Captain Tsubasa has gone on to have many manga sequels as well as numerous anime series, including its most recent reboot which aired in 2018.
And now, it’s getting an all-new video game too!
Bandai Namco’s Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions is an action-packed soccer game that lets you bring epic matches to life using beloved characters and their signature power moves. It will be the franchise’s first console game in 10 years and, if the trailer below is any indication, it seems that it’s guaranteed to be worth the wait.

Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions is scheduled to be released this August 28 on the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC.
