LOOK: These Buchi Balls Come in All Sorts of Flavors

Love buchi? I’m a sucker for these fried Chinese pastry balls made of glutinous rice and coated with sesame seeds. I love how they crunch when I bite into them and how deliciously chewy and airy they are inside. I used to only get my buchi fix from Chow King, to be honest, because I never knew where else to get them. BUT NOW I HAVE DISCOVERED BUCHI BALLS MNL AND LIFE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME.

Buchi Balls MNL 1

Buchi Balls MNL was established this March during the COVID-19 pandemic. This glutinous rice balls brand was founded by Camille Jona because of her family’s love for desserts. And they don’t just offer regular buchi balls. No, sir. They have all sorts of different flavors, so you can enjoy them even more! (Spoiler alert: they’re ALL good, so make sure you try them all!)

Aside from original monggo buchi balls (Php120 per 10pcs), they also offer the following flavors:

Ube Cheese (Php120 per 10pcs)

These ube cheese buchi balls were inspired by the trending ube cheese pandesal. Although it was initially just an experiment, customers ended up loving them. If you’re an ube cheese lover, these are the buchi balls for you!

Chocolate (Php120 per 10pcs)

Everyone loves chocolate, but these chocolate buchi balls were actually specifically made to give kids something to enjoy on the menu. Surprisingly, though, this wasn’t my daughter’s favorite; but it was my mom’s. She has a sweet tooth, after all. If you have a sweet tooth, too, you’ll fall in love with how the chocolate oozes out of these balls with each bite.

Black Buchi with Yema (Seasonal Flavor: Php130 per 8pcs)

The brand’s deeper goal is for others to yield earnings while staying safe at home. Buchi Balls MNL also hopes to be a well known local brand that adds happiness to every meal, and a dessert that everyone (even kids) will love. Well, they’ve got that one down. My daughter is absolutely obsessed with their black buchi with yema. If you have kids, I highly recommend getting this flavor for them. They claim that this is the first and original black yema buchi, and it was inspired by black kutsinta!

These buchi balls have another purpose, too: they were created to help and give people – especially mothers – a source of income by reselling. (I love them even more now.)

Buchi Balls MNL delivers around and outside the Metro. The balls are always freshly made, prepared and cooked daily. You can eat them as soon as they arrive or warm them up first. Should you have any leftovers, you can keep them in the fridge for up to five days. If you can’t decide on a single flavor, you can get two flavors in a tub, too – problem solved!

Camille shares that they intend to continue creating unique and mouthful new flavors that everyone will enjoy, as well. In fact, they offered Strawberry Cream Cheese Buchi Balls before. I personally can’t wait to see what else they’ll come up with. For now, I’m happy to get my fix of their current flavors.
