In line with all the superhero movies coming out (which leads up to Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2 in 2019), Marvel just announced the actor who will play Captain Marvel, and it will be Brie Larson.
Larson is known for her roles in 13 Going on 30, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, 21 Jump Street, and Room, where she won the Academy Award for Best Actress.

The news was announced at Comic-Con and through a tweet by Larson herself.
Captain Marvel was known as Ms. Marvel, who first appeared in Ms. Marvel in 1977. Her alter ego is Carol Danvers, a member of the United States Air Force who becomes a hero when a fusion of alien Kree (an advanced militaristic alien race) and human genes gives her superhuman powers. IGN ranked her 11th in the list of top 50 Avengers.
Captain Marvel will premiere on March 8, 2019.
