Japanese artist and tattooist Kazuaki Horitomo is now based in California, but he pays homage to his culture through his art, such as the series of illustrations of cats tattooing other cats.
While the paintings may border on the absurd, Kazuaki’s cats are depicted wearing a variety of traditional and elaborate Japanese tattoos. Kazuaki has been doing this for over 20 years.
The interesting part is the finishing touch where the paintings resemble hanging scrolls and woodblock prints, which demonstrate Kazuaki’s depth of knowledge and passion for Japanese culture.
