As Alopecia Awareness month comes to a close, WhenInManila.com would like to present a series of inspiring photos by Advocally featuring Alopecia Philippines. Alopecia is a hair loss condition that results in partial or complete baldness. It is an auto-immune condition that affects men, women and children all over the world. Since 2013, singer-songwriter and Alopecia Philippines Founder and President, Abby Asistio has been collaborating with different brands and groups to champion disease awareness in the country. And this 2021, their campaign, Flourish, has definitely lived up to its name.
Advocally, a new production house that supports Filipino artists and their respective advocacies launched the campaign with the first billboard dedicated solely to Alopecia Awareness. This is in collaboration with Happy Studios PH and DOOH. It features Shailini Velasco, one of the alopecia warriors that took part in this inspiring photoshoot that speaks of thriving amidst life’s challenges and difficulties, particularly alopecia and the pandemic. Check out the photos as well as this special behind-the-scenes video which talks about the campaign and what Alopecia Philippines is all about.
