Shirts printed with “Support Our Troops”, which were launched by the Armed Forces of the Philippines Civil Relations Service (AFP CRS) during the second half of June, are selling really well. The shirts are being sold for a very good cause: to boost the morale of soldiers fighting in the ongoing tension in Marawi City and in other combat zones by generating the support of everyone.
Filipinos from all over the world, including overseas Filipino workers and celebrities, are showing tremendous support by buying the shirts. According to the AFP CRS, they have been printing more than a thousand shirts a day in order to keep up with orders. Such an outpouring of support indeed!
Among those spotted wearing the “Support Our Troops” shirts were actor Coco Martin, and news anchors Mike Enriquez, Ali Sotto, and Arnold Clavio. Netizens have also been posting photos of themselves wearing the shirt hashtagged #SupportOurTroops.

Due to the shirts’ popularity, however, it has been reported that some individuals and online shops have started imitating the design and selling them at more expensive prices, at 500 pesos or more. AFP CRS warns the public to be wary of fake shirts, which are sold not for the benefit of Filipino soldiers at all, but for profits only.
“Support Our Troops” can only be availed at AFP CRS headquarters and at Camp Aguinaldo Gate 1 in Quezon City. For inquiries, interested buyers can also contact Lt. Cmdr. Jobina Besa at 0917-5974125.
