LOOK: 8 Must-Read-Books You Shouldn’t Miss Out on this 2018

5) Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

This book will take you away.

A book set into the future (the year 2045),  Ready Player One is more like a movie in a book—it’s cinematic, feel-good, and nostalgic. This novel goes about a utopian Virtual Reality known as OASIS wherein everyone escapes to from their ugly and harsh realities. And imagine this: being able to get all the puzzles and getting the Easter Egg that the creator of OASIS has left in it would mean getting more than a Trillion Dollars! Who wouldn’t join that?

But when the main character, Wade, realizes he had to face the harsh reality he’s been escaping and—even risk getting killed—from the moment he was able to get the first clue in OASIS, that’s when you doubt whether a trillion dollars is still really worth it all.

4) Blindness by José Saramago

This book will make you human.

Imagine going blind for even just a day. Difficult, isn’t it? But imagine if you weren’t just blind for a day and your whole country is blind with you? That’s exactly what this post-apocalyptic novel is all about. Everyone—except one person—goes blind and with chaos going around, it will show you how disasters could bring out the best and the worst out of people.

This novel is a combination of adventure, love, and triumph over adversity—but let me warn you, it’s also pretty dark. So, if you feel like reading something more out of the ordinary then get this novel and get ready to know human nature unlike ever before!

This book will leave you feeling very engaged, informed, AND intrigued.

I, Claudius is a historical fiction novel on the life of Rome’s 4th Emperor Tiberius Claudius (who never wanted to be emperor). Not only that, this page-turner novel has a lot of drama—family drama to be precise—and can get really intriguing. And it actually has its own mini TV series!

2) The Stand by Stephen King

This book will confuse you—in a good way.

Another post-apocalyptic novel that’s definitely worth reading (plus it’s a Stephen King novel!), The Stand is centered on a group of survivors who were immune to an accidental epidemic that wiped out 99.4% of the world’s population. Each survivor dreams of two opposing figures: one of evil and another of the light. The survivors choose sides and end up splitting into two factions, both of which are then preparing for the final stand between good and evil. But, who or what really is good and evil?
