When In Manila, book fairs are aplenty but have you ever been on a floating one? Yes, a floating book fair inside a ship called the MV Logos Hope. The fair has an overwhelming selection of titles that ranges from childrens story books and pocket books like Nancy Drew to technical books like “Business Law” just to name a few.
LOGOS HOPE MORE THAN JUST A BOOK FAIR
What’s makes the ship more special is their cause ideals, the Logos Hope travels the world to bring knowledge, help and hope by selling books to places that does not have access or could afford these titles (the books are sold at a lower cost than the retail value). The crew of 400 unpaid volunteers are selfless individuals from different countries who wanted to help other people in some way.
Mind you that they do not just wait for people to get inside the ship, the volunteers get in touch with locals on countries where the Logos Hope docks, through this they provide physical and spiritual help to those who needs them.
SCHEDULE AND LOCATIONS IN THE PHILIPPINE TOUR
The Logos Hope is a floating book fair with a purpose so if you are interested on what they got to offer or want to make donations, why not try visiting them since they will be here in Manila until March 14, or maybe if you got some friends on the places they are going to visit in the Philippines. You might want to share with them about the cause of the biggest “travelling” floating book fair. So When In Manila, be sure to drop by pier 15, after Manila Hotel to visit the Logos Hope.
