LOOK: Logan Lerman, Who Played Percy Jackson in the Movies, Reacts to the Series Announcement

Rick Riordan, the author of the much-loved Percy Jackson books, recently revealed that a Percy Jackson series is officially in development.

While we have been blessed with Percy Jackson movies in the past, die-hard fans of the books weren’t exactly happy with them. Some fans were unhappy about Percy Jackson’s age in the movies, for example. He was played by then-17-year-old Logan Lerman, whereas Percy was only 12 in the books. A lot of fans weren’t happy with how some of the characters and the monsters looked, either. That aside, the movies strayed from the books a LOT – and if you’ve ever loved a book with a passion, I’m sure you’ll understand these fans’ annoyance with the outcome.

Now that the series has been announced, fans are practically REJOICING and voicing out their hope to get the adaptation that they’ve always dreamed of. Logan Lerman, who originally played Percy Jackson in the movies, has also tweeted about his excitement for the show.

“Excited to see this,” he tweeted yesterday. “Hope it gets the adaptation the books deserve. Congrats, Rick Riordan!”

We love how classy his tweet is and how he didn’t take the fans’ anger for his movies to heart. We love you, Logan!
