It’s official: LJ Reyes and Paolo Contis have called it quits.
In a 21-second teaser published to announce her exclusive interview with Boy Abunda, LJ was in tears as she opened up on how completely broken she felt following their breakup.
“Ang separation niyo ni Paolo (Your separation with Paolo), was it mutual?” asked Boy.
Seemingly confirming the news, LJ answered, “It was so difficult, it was so painful.”
“Kung hindi malakas ’yung pananampalataya ko sa Panginoon, hindi ko alam kung saan ako pupulutin (If my faith in God wasn’t so strong, I wouldn’t know where I’d end up),” she added.
Boy then asked her who initiated the breakup. The teaser did not show her specific answer to that question, but she did admit that she’s felt the distance between her and Paolo for a while now. “Matagal ko nang nararamdamang nakahiwalay na siya sa amin (I have long felt that he was distancing himself from us),” she shared.
The interview will premiere on Wednesday, September 1, on Boy’s YouTube channel called The Boy Abunda Talk Channel.
Paolo and LJ have been together for five years and they have one two-year-old daughter, Summer Ayana. He also helped take care of LJ’s first-born, Aki, whom she had with her ex-boyfriend Paulo Avelino.
Rumors of their separation began when fans discovered that Paolo had unfollowed LJ on Instagram and deleted all their photos together. His manager, Lolit Solis, also claimed that the breakup rumors are true and it was not at all caused by a third party but the simple “outgrowing” of each other.
