Liza Soberano Reacts to Sinigang Being Named World’s Best Vegetable Soup

By now, everyone knows just how much Liza Soberano loves sinigang. Ever since she defended herself from criticism regarding her “not being Filipino enough” for her role in the Philippine mythology-based teleserye “Bagani,” Liza’s love for the Philippine dish has become a popular Internet meme that she herself can’t help but joke about from time to time.

“Who says were not pinoy? My Father is full filipino. I was raised by two filipinos since the age of 4. I looooove sinigang i think thats as pinoy as pinoy can get,” she said in a tweet dated February 2018.

And with sinigang being named one of the World’s Best Vegetable Soups by an International Food Guide, Liza made sure to make it known to all her fans and followers that she definitely stanned the right Pinoy meal.

“Sinigang #1,” she said.

The beloved, classic Filipino dish has landed the top spot in Taste Atlas’ ranking of vegetable soups around the globe. Sinigang got a rating of 4.8 out of 5, just a few points higher against Turkey’s Mercimek çorbası (lentil soup) which scored 4.6, and Lithuania’s Šaltibarščiai (Lithuanian Cold Borscht), which scored 4.5.

Taste Atlas is an “encyclopedia of flavors,” describing itself as a “world atlas of traditional dishes, local ingredients, and authentic restaurants.”
